A Closer Look at Our Lineup of Injectable Treatments

A Closer Look at Our Lineup of Injectable Treatments

More than 20 years ago — in 2002, to be exact — Botox® was approved to treat moderate to severe frown lines. And this introduction kicked off a cascade of anti-aging treatments in the form of cosmetic injectables that have helped millions of people around the world to stay one step ahead of aging.

In 2022 alone, nearly 16 million injectable treatments were administered across the United States, making scores of people smile knowing that they’re defying their age.

While McHugh Plastic Surgery’s Dr. Thomas McHugh is well-known and respected for his work in plastic surgery, he also recognizes that not everyone is a candidate for surgery. For clients who would prefer a less invasive and simpler approach, we offer a full lineup of industry-leading cosmetic injectable brands that we review below.

Relaxing your wrinkles and lines with Botox and Dysport®

Since Botox kicked off the injectable revolution, let’s start there. Since its introduction, the FDA has expanded the approval of Botox to not only treat moderate to severe frown lines, but also forehead lines and crow’s feet.

The key ingredient in Botox is onabotulinumtoxinA, which is a neuromodulator that relaxes the muscles that contract to form the aforementioned wrinkles and lines.

With just a few injections, we can make quick work of those lines on the top half of your face that can prematurely age you. And these injections keep these wrinkles at bay for about 4 months, at which point you can return for another quick round.

We also offer Dysport, which relies on abobotulinumtoxinA to smooth out those frown lines between your eyes. Dysport is fast-acting and the injectable can last up to 5 months.

Filling in and adding volume with Juvéderm® and Restylane®

The neuromodulators we mention above are fantastic for the signs of aging on the top half of our face, but let’s move down to the bottom half, where dermal fillers can work their magic.

We offer two lines of dermal fillers, Juvéderm and Restylane, which both rely on hyaluronic acid (HA) as the key ingredient. HA is naturally found in your body — in your skin, in your joints, and even in your eyes. This substance promotes lubrication, elasticity, and hydration — one-quarter teaspoon of HA can hold 1.5 gallons of water!

For our purposes, we use the HA found in Juvéderm and Restylane to address a number of different cosmetic concerns, such as:

We can even use dermal fillers to slightly lift sagging skin around your jowls or to smooth out craggy-looking hands.

Both Restylane and Juvéderm injectables work immediately — you walk out with your results already in place. And these injectables can last anywhere from 6 months to a year or more, depending upon how quickly your body processed the HA.

As you can see, our lineup of cosmetic injectables can provide you with a liquid facelift that we can perform on your lunch break — they’re that quick and easy.

If you’d like to see how cosmetic injectables can help you maintain your youthful appearance we invite you to contact our office in The Woodlands, Texas, to set up your cosmetic injectable appointment today.
