What to Expect During and After SculpSure®

If you’re hoping to say goodbye to stubborn pockets of fat, SculpSure® from the cosmetic specialists at Cynosure® offers the perfect way to melt excess fat on a cellular level and give you the body you’ve been dreaming of having.

Before you begin, however, you may wonder what to expect during and after your SculpSure treatments. At McHugh Plastic Surgery in The Woodlands, Texas, our Dr. Thomas McHugh believes in keeping our patients informed and managing expectations. To achieve that, we’ve created this SculpSure guide.

Read on to learn what you can expect during and after SculpSure!

What is WarmSculpting with SculpSure?

SculpSure works by applying specific levels of heat to the targeted fat cells using a specially designed wand. This wand uses FDA-cleared technology that protects the surrounding tissue while heating the fat cells so they die.

As the fat cells die, your lymphatic system removes them along with the other natural cellular waste your body produces. Because SculpSure patients are at or near their ideal weight before beginning treatment, they won’t create more fat cells. The result? A toned, tighter body.

What can I expect during SculpSure?

The SculpSure device is extremely gentle and safe, and each treatment session only takes about 25 minutes.

During the treatment, you rest comfortably while your provider places the SculpSure wand so that the technology can deliver the precise wavelengths of energy needed to break down fat cells in the treatment areas.

Although the SculpSure process raises the temperature in the fat cells under the surface of your skin, SculpSure’s Contact CoolingTM technology protects your skin and the surrounding tissues.

You may notice a warm sensation or mild tingling during your SculpSure session, but most patients say the treatment is comfortable and tolerate it with no problems.

What can I expect after SculpSure?

SculpSure treatments require no downtime, so you can resume normal activities right away. You won’t see results immediately because your body needs time to absorb and remove the dead fat cells. On average, patients experience a 24% reduction of fat* in the treatment area after each session.

The more treatments you get, the more dramatic your results will be. Your provider at McHugh Plastic Surgery, works with you to design a treatment plan, including a recommended number of sessions for your goals.

Six weeks after your last session, you’ll see noticeable changes in the treated areas. It takes about 12 weeks to reach your maximum results.
